I have been taking my 2015 Toyota RAV4 to the service department at Stokes Honda for years, thanks to the outstanding care provided by Patrick Sankowski. I was perfectly content to keep driving my RAV4 for several more years—I loved that little SUV, and I loved having no car payment even more! Then the 2026 Passport caught my eye. It is 8:45 PM and I am pulling into my drive in Austin, Texas with my new CRV from Stokes Honda in Beaufort, South Carolina that Tony Priozzi sold me yesterday morning. You read right, Texas. Let me explain. Back in the day when I lived in Charleston, I was looking to replace my car. I spent an entire weekend going dealer to dealer in Charleston search for something I could afford. Dealer after dealer low balled my trade in and tried to upsell me into a car that I would be paying off into old age. The following weekend, I drove to Stokes Honda in Beaufort to give it another go. I decided to dispense with southern manners and just lay it out there. “I need a car,” I told the sales rep. “I’m an artist and I don’t have any money. I want a fair price for my trade in. If you can’t help me, just say so and I’ll leave.” I’m not sure what Tony thought, but two hours later, I drove my new Honda off the lot. That was four Honda’s ago. Tuesday, I returned to buy my fifth Honda, a new 2026 CRV. Tony and I had been texting and talking by phone for a couple of weeks. We discussed models, my trade in and of course how our families were doing and plans for the summer. He was waiting for me Tuesday morning, all the paperwork assembled and my new beautiful CRV ready for ownership. Jerry, who has handled all of my financial paperwork on every car was ready as well. Each went over all of the details carefully since I had a long drive back to Texas, although I wouldn’t ever hesitate to call if I had a question. I signed and initialed. Congratulations and hugs all around. In as world full of takers and those looking to make a quick buck, Tony, Jerry and the rest are looking to build family and trust. Think about it. How many people hug their car dealers and financial reps? How many drive halfway across the country to purchase a car? You would if you had these folks in your corner. Love you guys! See you when it is time for my 30,000 mile check up!

In the market for a new car, we drove over to Honda in Beaufort from Bluffton to just look as we heard good things. Determined we were not buying a car that day, but I had done months of research on the cars that would work best for our family and wanted to see them in person. We were greeted warmly and had a very open and honest discussion about what we were looking for and what our must haves were, including them asking our daughter what she wanted (apparently color is important to kids…lol). Both Tony and John made us feel important but not pressured at all. They showed us the cars I had in mind, and didn’t try to sell us on anything we didn’t want. They went through the options, all of the technical questions I had were answered. We were NEVER made to feel incompetent or inferior like so many other times I had car shopped. We were even joking and discussing other topics during our test drive. They even pulled the most fun color for us. At the end we left with the offer of the deals they could give us on a simple piece of paper. I knew I needed time to process all of the information and we left with zero pressure, them telling us to enjoy our day and some lunch. Before we even made it home, we decided we were turning around and going to get the car. With six months of research I knew the deals they presented were the best around and I knew the last thing I wanted to do was go to another place and have the horrendous car salesman pressure I had experienced other places. The paperwork process was seamless, with one of them running out of the room real fast to research another deal, saving us another $700 after we had already started the process, proving Honda in Beaufort, SC is an honest dealership that cares about the individual and not just the dollar signs. I would HIGHLY recommend if you’re in the market for a car, and are dreading it due to past horror stories like myself, go here. Ask for Tony. Best decision ever, and we’re driving a nice new car with no hesitation to take a family trip anymore. (Oh…and they have warm cookies!)
